Literally the day before yesterday at , the official Google blog has information about new search features that Google may incorporate into the main search in the future. The layout of the issue remained unchanged - 10 results per page. However, new controls have been added. Experimental page where you can experience innovations (for now only for English), is here.
1. Search by date.
Suppose you need news for a given key phrase for a particular month or year. For example, I took the news about the Metallica group for the years 2006-2007 (thanks to this feature, you can also see the announcements for the coming months and even years).
You can select the desired date yourself using the Set Filter button.
2. Search by map.
If you need to find out information on some event that was or will be held in a specified city (state, country), or sights (store, theater, etc.), search by map show you its exact location and information associated with that location (record, announcement, news). For example, I tried to find pet stores in New York. This is what Google gave me:
3. Additional request.
This feature allows you to extend the standard search. Let me explain by example. Suppose you wanted to find all the information on Elvis Presley, which is somehow connected with London. To do this, you just need to open the item Locations in the right menu and fill in the name of the city:
If you need images from sites from the main issue, click on the item Images :
As for me, if these innovations are implemented, an ordinary Google user will benefit.
