Hello, everyone! My name is Emily Becker . I'm from WordPress Direct. Today we’ll talk about Google Analytics .
Earlier we said that when conducting marketing research, we collect keywords, phrases, choose a topic. Google Analytics is part of market research and analytics and helps to achieve two important goals:
http: // www. Google. com / Analytics
We will get to the registration (authorization) page:
Click on the link Sign Up Now , located under the Access Analytics button. The system will request authorization. In order to register with Google Analytics you need to have a Google account, i.e. a mailbox.
After logging in, we’ll enter the analytics profile setting.
On this page, click on the Sign Up button.
On this page I need to create an account ( Account Name ). As him I choose a domain name. Also, enter the domain name ( Website's URL ) in the appropriate fields, indicate the country ( Time zone country or territory ) and time zone ( Time Zone ). Click the button Continue .
Fill out information about yourself: First Name ( First Name ), Last Name ( Last Name ) and Country ( Country or territory ). Click the button Continue .
Here you have a choice. You can track a single top-level domain, or you can add multiple sub-domains for the main domain, or select multiple top-level domains. I choose Multiple Top Level Domains to keep all my sites under control as much as possible.
The analytics code should be inserted into the site template. In order for Analytics to collect data from all pages of the site, the code should be placed on all its pages. To do this, simply place it before the closing tag
. / BODY. . The code can be obtained later. To complete account registration, click on Save and Finish .
That's it. Account created, the code I made to the template. Google Analytics is now ready to collect data. Initially, its status will be reflected as an exclamation mark. it is not yet activated by the system. Later, the status will be shown by a green bird.
In the site control panel, in the WPD Tools section on the sidebar there is the option we need Google Analytics . We press on it.
The Google Anlytics account integration window opens.
Click on the link Click here to link your WPDirect. com account with Google Analytics . After this, Google will open. com with my Google ID (account) request and permission to access.
To resolve, press the Grant Access button. This does not mean that WPD will have full control over the Analytics account. No, through WPD you will not be able to make changes in analytics settings.
WPD will show the linked sites in the list, the Analytics account ID. To enable and retrieve data in WPD, check the Tracked checkbox.
That's it. The data will begin to arrive and you can see it also in WPD.
I note that WPD does not replace Google Analytics. We are tracking only traffic through WPD. For global analysis, you definitely need to study the data in Analytics itself.
