I publish the translation of the 3rd, final article from Eli with BlueHatSeo. You can get acquainted with the original here.
Before proceeding to the new material, let's return to the previous post. In it, I covered a wide range of information and talked about the different types of sites on which your SEO-empire will stand. But I did not answer the main question: why do we need a clear structure? Why not just take and not create a bunch of sites in the hope that at least some of them will not be fixed in the issue and will begin to generate income? After all, so do many online entrepreneurs.
To find the answer, you need to do a little history.
Last year, I wrote about who you need to learn from and which sites set the tone for Internet marketing. I try to keep up with new trends and from my own experience I can say with absolute certainty that adult, warez, mp3, gambling and pharma sites essentially bypass similar sites of other subjects to attract traffic and conversion. These sites set the tone, and the rest follow them. In 1997-2000, adult, warez and mp3 sites began using top lists. This helped them maintain and increase attendance. At that time, sites with a attendance of 3k people per day were considered quite successful. Such sites stood firmly on their feet.
But one day, the owners of such sites decided that it was best to promote such sites in groups. Now, instead of creating one top list and promoting it, they created three. They united their common themes, but sharpened for different niches. Then the site owners manually corrected the statistics, so that in the first list of sites two other sites took the first two places. This allowed them to maximize the use of traffic attracted from other sites with top lists. Then they went through the sites that were on their lists, and manually signed their sites. Several transitions and votes in the first few days guaranteed them to hit the bottom of the lists. The traffic from these lists hit the sites where there were other lists and went to those sites that were in the first positions. Since the outgoing traffic from the lists is always higher than the inbound (the sources of traffic to the main sites can be different), the traffic in the grid of sites has rapidly increased. Over time, these lists gained sufficient popularity so that other webmasters began to subscribe to them. Then the sites gradually fell out of the lists to which the webmaster signed them, but the traffic volumes did not decrease at all. Moreover, this traffic was evenly distributed within the grid, which only increased the attendance of each individual site.
When traffic reached critical mass, webmasters began to look for ways to more effectively monetize it. When income from the DoubleClick banners, BabylonX (adult affiliate program), and Casino Gold (casino) was clearly insufficient to cover the costs of servicing 10-20k visitors per day, webmasters began to create resources remotely resembling today's partner sites. Over time, this resulted in a boom of galleries, densely interlinked site grids, and even partner landing pages.
It seems to me that this is enough to prove the power of networks. Another confirmation that they work is the fact that most of those who did not go bankrupt after the collapse of the Internet bubble in early 2000 had networks, rather than individual sites. Grid sites work fine to this day. We only need to apply them to our white money projects.
Now let’s look again at the benefits that give us the foundation and basement of our SEO empire. There are two direct benefits. The first is high profit at relatively low cost. You need to start your own business on the Internet correctly. Anyone, even a beginner Internet entrepreneur, needs money not only for current personal needs, but also for future development (and the more, the better).
The growth and development of an SEO empire is critical in the first year of your online business. The foundation and basement provide such growth and at the same time bring fast, stable income, which reduces the risk of investment. Moreover, your work will pay off not only in the short but also in the long term, so you will never be left without money if your projects grow and develop.
The second benefit is not so obvious, especially if you are a beginner. Each site, whether it is a foundation or basement, increases the leverage for future projects. Strengthening the foundation of the empire, you are increasing the springboard for the white money sites exponentially. (Do not forget that all your websites should pay for themselves. This is very important.)
Here I want to introduce you to two fundamental concepts: entry points (Eli’s next post will be devoted to this; he has not published it yet) and the lever link building
I casually touched on this concept in the article Capture a niche and the top search results. Here we will talk about this in more detail. Leverage can give you a strong competitive advantage. A quality link building campaign includes 4 aspects, each of which is key to the success of the entire campaign.
Indexing. This stage covers all aspects of getting the site to issue, including indexing internal pages.
Number of links. According to this indicator, your website should match or be ahead of competitors' sites.
Link Quality. This indicator reflects the relevance and credibility of incoming links.
Reference saturation . The ratio of the number of existing incoming links to links that are added over time.
The Y axis shows the complexity of the stage, the X axis shows the position of the site in the output. This chart is universal and suitable for almost any niche and any key phrase. Factors such as quantity and quality of links have almost the same value and equally affect the position of the site in issue. That is, competitors can be circumvented with a large number of low-quality links, and with a small amount of quality. The same can be said about indexing and referential saturation. If you are going to go to the top, you just can not ignore the indexing stage. On the other hand, you should take care of the reference saturation (by the way, this is the stage that is most often overlooked, which gives you some advantage).
Now let's talk about the complexity / accessibility indicator. An increase in the reference weight, as well as an increase in site traffic, is uneven. Initial site indexing is very quick and easy. Then search engines begin to index internal pages, and the more such pages, the harder it is to index them. But now you should not worry about it. By following my advice and using my tools (once and twice), you will be able to do in 10 minutes what some take from 3 weeks to 3 months.
Now let's talk about the number of links. At the beginning, everything is also very simple. There are millions of websites and as many opportunities to find free backlinks. At the initial stage, you will be able to get a certain number of good becks, however, sooner or later you will run into the “reference wall” when the supply of free links dries out and you will need to add quality to the number of them.
The following quote from the article Capturing a niche ... best describes the essence of the phenomenon: "At first, you can feed a grid in portions of 50-200 links per day due to site directories, counter links, links from social networks, etc. , you can even get a few links with authority s niche sites. But sooner or later the rate of building reference weight will slow down. Free supply of free backlinks will be exhausted. You will hit the wall. "
Climbing over this wall, especially for the first time, is not easy. Your site is relatively young, so there are some old trust resources who will want to link back to you. Here you have to work to find relevant links. time, when the site is fixed in its niche, webmasters will refer to it more and more. The same thing happens with niche blogs. When you manage to overcome this wall, the road to the top of the issue will be open.
When you go out , competition will intensify. To raise your own the site in the issue, of course, you will have to drop the site of someone else, otherwise there is no way. But the fact is that all these sites have the same links as you do. In addition, they have links that you don’t never get, because they work in a niche much more than yours. It is here that the stage of reference saturation comes into effect. Here you need not only to increase reference weight, but also to do it more efficiently.
Running any new project implies the passage of all four stages. First, the site is indexed, then the owner is looking for backlinks for him, then he somehow gets over the reference wall and then tries to keep increasing the number and quality of links at the proper level. On everything about everything he can take about a year. That is why the launch of many projects in the hope that at least one of them will be fixed in its niche is ineffective. Each project requires special attention, but the Internet entrepreneur can not give it. He just doesn't know what to grab for. It is not surprising that after such an experience, many newcomers leave the business forever.
But there is an easier way, and it was about him that I wrote in the article Creating an SEO Empire. This approach is not only simpler and more effective - it makes money. These are not the golden mountains that all novice Internet entrepreneurs dream of, but this is a fairly good profit. The resources I give you are replenishable. You can use them for all your projects.
Now, I think, you understand why in the previous article I wrote that my whole blog consists of puzzle pieces that , being collected together, constitute a single complete strategy. On the blog pages, I have given you several methods and tools that will literally carry your website through all the steps of SEO to the very reference wall. This will allow you in the short term to perform the same work, which many webmasters take from several months to several years. This is where the SEO empire provides. After launching a new project, you will not have to go through all the stages again and again - you will immediately start from the reference wall.
The difference in workload and time costs is palpable, isn't it? Having this whole arsenal, I can build a website, launch it, spend several hours searching for relevant links and on the day of launching the project I will do all the necessary work to get to the top search engines - a job that can take others from 6 months to of the year. Of course, the site will be released in the top only in a few months, but since everything will happen on the machine, I don’t have to worry about it at all. At the same time, my competitors will work hard only to keep up with me. It will seem to them that I work even more of them, whereas in reality, I will devote so little time to the site that I might even forget its name. Now it's time to answer some questions.
Why does an SEO-empire need to be built upwards and not vice versa?
I rarely check Technorati blog statistics, but here I recently found an interesting link. Someone, after reading my article on the SEO Empire, decided to write his own opus on how to build money sites and then back them up with a foundation and basement. In fact, the idea is the same as mine, only the person runs ahead and immediately starts building white money resources. This approach can cause some problems. Look at the previous chart. Having a strong foundation allows me to perform all the necessary SEO activities in one day. If you build an empire from top to bottom, each new project will take you from a few days to a couple of weeks. In the long run, this is unprofitable and ineffective. Moreover, there is no point in building a new foundation and / or basement for each individual white site. It is much easier to have a strong foundation and a reliable basement and add new floors to it than to build a new building each time.
How do you manage with all of your sites, in particular with sites at the basement and basement levels?
I thoroughly prepared myself before building my SEO empire. I developed a centralized system that allows me to easily manage all of my projects — literally every page from all databases and black sites. I have one big table that lists all the addresses of the pages of my projects and lists of keywords for each of them. When I create a new database, I expand the table. Each database I assign my identification number. Take the page cited as an example in the first article: Remax Real Estate In Portland Oregon. From this page, keywords like Remax, real, estate, portland, Oregon will fall into my piggy bank of keywords.
The same goes for cyclical sites. After the cash cycle ends, I change. htaccess, so that the script produces a page with an error, for example: ... keywords ... Sorry, this site is closed due to violation of the terms of service use ... sincerely DoucheHosting Inc. ... advertising (sites still have to generate revenue). The same script pulls keywords from each such site. If I need to redirect incoming links from a cyclic site to a white project, I put on it the 301th redirect.
Every time I create a new white project, I open the table and indicate the necessary keywords, url, anchor links and the required number of links. As a result, I get a list of pages from databases and loop sites that match the specified parameters. If links are not enough, I do a new search for keywords of a similar subject (for example, for real estate it is land, houses, garden, etc.). As a result, it takes only a few minutes to get 1000+ backlinks.
How much time did it take to build your SEO empire?
I have reached a level that suits me in about a year.I did not have to force myself to work, because throughout this year I made money. The basement and basement still bring me a good income (rule number 2). I treated it as if it was my usual job. Therefore, I worked from 9 am to 5 pm. If you go to work, build your SEO-empire from 7 to 9 pm or from 1 to 5 am - it does not matter. The main thing is that you can build a sufficiently strong foundation and basement in just a month. Then, if you have time, you can always expand it. This is a continuous process. If you are a beginner, try making one site for each type of site I have talked about. It will take you about a week. After receiving the necessary experience, you can create ten times more sites for the same period. There is nothing complicated about it. You just need to sit down and do it.
How much time do you need to spend on databases?
Make your first database such that you can be proud of it. Get feedback from other webmasters (rule number 4). When the creation of bases will be on stream, you will cease to give them so much attention. You will begin to select the simplest templates so that you can quickly change them to fit your needs. But you will always have that ideal database that you will show to your partners. In addition, the more time you spend on the first site and the more problems you solve, the less you will have difficulties in the future.
Help! I cannot access the SQUIRT tool that is shown on the chart.
I specifically wrote a post on how to create your own SQUIRT (super quick indexing and ranking tool). I want you to build yourself such a tool. If you regularly read my blog, you should have no problems understanding the principles on which it works. If you have any questions, you can always ask my advice by email.
I can be calculated by the tracks that the AdSense code leaves! Everything is lost! I did not even have time to make the first site, but all my undertakings have already failed !!! *
Eli promised to write another post in this series, but he is not there yet. There are many other helpful articles on the BlueHatSeo blog. If you wish, I will translate every week one by one.
