In this post, you will find another list a la TOP10, but first a little background.
Paying maximum attention to building up the external link mass due to backward (including purchased) and counter-references, webmasters often ignore aspects of internal site optimization, which, if properly used, can easily raise the site by several (tens) positions in search results.
For example, internal links have an exceptional advantage - besides the fact that they transmit PR and reference weight, they also appear on the internal pages under your control. If your site is mature enough, and the internal pages already have some kind of PR, you just have to take advantage of it.
According to the author of the article, taken as the basis of this post, the page position on competitive inquiries depends not on external links, but on internal links and site structure. Consequently, even a young site can bypass the old trust site in the issue ... but only on the condition that it will be sharpened for one specific subject, the pages are correctly linked to each other, the code is cleared of rubbish, and the content is optimized for specific key phrases.
So, before proceeding with off-page optimization, you need to take care of the optimization of the site structure and relink the internal pages first of all. If you already have a ready-made site, review the list and, if possible, apply the author's advice in practice.
1. Make all internal links absolute and remove the irrelevant key phrases .
Replace / pagename. html link like http: // www. yoursite com / pagename. html. So the internal pages of the site will be able to feed each other with reference weight, and you will get a reciprocal link even if your content is stowed.
2. Limit the number of links that go from one page to 10 . For the rest, redirect or create a new page for them.
So you concentrate the reference weight within the site and can, at the right time, direct it to strengthen the position of other sites or new pages within the site.
3. Optimize link anchor.
Add the key phrase to the page title and at least once mention it in the text. Select for each page 4-5 key phrases that best fit the content of the pages, and use them as an anchor in links from other pages. This will also help you raise pages in the issue.
4. Optimize page content under 2-3 key phrases - no more.
If you want the site (or a separate page) to go to the top of search engines, sharpen its content under a strictly defined topic. Depending on the orientation of the site, the number of words on the page may be different, but if possible, do not exceed 750 words. If the article does not fit into the specified framework, break it into two or three parts and optimize them for adjacent keywords. Of course, you can write as much as you want, but the number of words affects the page size (in kilobytes), and this is another important aspect of on-page optimization.
5. Use text links (preferably at the beginning of the text).
Make sure that the text links contain the keywords for which you want to raise the position of the pages in the issue. Suppose you have two pages: A and B, and on page A there is a text link to page B. So, with an anchor of this link you need to make a phrase on which you promote page B. Thanks to this linking, the internal pages can feed each other PR ohm and reference weight.
6. Reduce the page size to 20kb , including pictures and lines of code (20kb was originally indicated, perhaps one zero is missing - note).
If you have Photoshop, open the images from the site in it and save them in jpeg format (shift + control + alt + S). This will significantly reduce their size.
7. Optimize code . Remove all java-scripts and other program codes from the code (create separate files and call them using links in the code).
Ideally, you should use cascading style sheets (CSS), which allow you to separate text blocks and images and are well perceived by search engines. If you are still going to create a site based on simple tables and java-scripts, then at least keep the scripts separate. js files and put a link to them (the same as if you used style sheets).
8. Use keywords in the text and headings .
The main key phrase should be mentioned in the text, but not more than 2-4 times. It should also appear in the H1 tag and - with some variations - in the H2 tag. Optimizing the text (along with internal links) will allow you to quickly rise in the issue and get around many competitors. Do not overdo the keyword density!
9. Create a springboard for new pages.
Select 5-6 pages with sufficient reference weight and link them to the new page (do not forget to use the correct, but not necessarily the same anchor). This technique allows you to quickly index a new page and raise it in the issuance of a given keyword (at the expense of anchors).
10. Remove the irrelevant pages .
Rewrite text, change the title (up to 65 characters), correct the description (the key phrase should be mentioned within the first two lines) and remove unnecessary links. Then republish the page and wait for the search bot to visit it. After that, start increasing the reference weight and promote it in search results.
If none of the above will help you, try the following:
Well, and after you have done all this, you can also buy links. 🙂
